The Family Under One Roof

It’s a treat for families – especially when they far away – to get together. And the holidays are a special time for this to happen. I felt fortunate to photograph a Bettendorf family in their new home (Also longtime family friends who like my parents immigrated to the U.S. from Bangladesh). Parents – Matlub and Ferdaus – recently celebrated their anniversary and she her birthday – and received a grand piano from her husband as a gift. (Wow!). The adult kids are sisters Naurin and Farah, both now living in Washington, D.C., and their brother Omar. They also had their grandmother there, and everyone was decked out in their finest – (not easy to do at 9 in the morning), but it was nice to see them dressed up and then dressed down (sort of). Here’s a sneak peak from their New Year’s Eve session in their new home.

Omar, Farah and Naurin. They as good in black and white as they do in color.

A rare moment of affection, but priceless for this sage pair.
