Longitude

I’m back home from Des Moines now and hopefully will get a chance to blog about a few things later on. In the meantime, I’ve been wrapping up a couple magazine assignments which I can’t blog about yet and have been on a book kick of sorts since rediscovering how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE the library.

The book I recently got done reading is Longitude, which was recommended to me by Joe (who incidentally also encouraged me to read another great book, The Professor and the Madman). Longitude is about a clockmaker who created a device to track… yes, you guessed it – longitude. It’s a fascinating story that mixes science, history and a bit of politics. Not a book I would’ve ordinarily picked up, but it’s a fast read and makes you appreciate – if only for a bit – about the making of things that propelled us forward.
