Going Back to Basics

A friend from a photography forum shared this post recently. It’s about how we – as photographers – can easily get caught up in the hype about new cameras and lenses and lose sight of why we love what we do. While this doesn’t apply to all of us, I know I’ve been guilty of splurging on things I’ve only used once (or never in some cases). At the same time, I’ve tried to be wiser in my equipment decisions – buying only what I know I’ll consistently use and getting rid of stuff I haven’t in more than a year. Just as importantly I still need to use skills I have learned, and continue teaching myself new ones.
