Catching Up… and a bit on Customer Service

I came back from Wisconsin Dells on Saturday afternoon, and picked up right where I left off with work. So much so that by today it felt like I’d never left for vacation. (Sigh). I checked my blog and was puzzled why on a random day (and while out-of-town) that I didn’t post, my stats spiked. Then I remembered a guest post I wrote for Jodi Friedman of MCP Actions, which is a business-education site frequented by photographers of all levels. The post is about enhancing client experiences, and it was published on MCP Actions on June 10, (probably around the time we were playing our hundredth round of miniature golf).

The Camera Never Lies

A few weeks ago I broke down and wrote my photographer friend Samantha a desperate email:

… I’ve come to realize I …dislike [taking] my own photos… And what I really want is a cool photo of me for my website and blog that is a natural setting having fun … honestly outside of workshops and second shooting, it’s been ages since I’ve worked with a photographer in FRONT of the camera.

Does that not sound like a cry for help or what!? So I headed to her studio in Wellman Sb Photography – and spent a good part of 2 hours there. It was fun, and felt like the senior session I never had – because cool high school senior sessions were invented after I graduated. This is why, people – especially if you wear glasses and have large eyelids like me – you go to a professional! I couldn’t be more pleased with the end results.

Thank you, Sam!

Kathy Middleton ~ Davenport Modern Professional Session

Kathy Middleton knows what it means to have a peace of mind with your life. She’s an independent associate with Pre-Paid Legal Services, which provides a variety of identity theft and legal protection for its members. Although the company has been around for ages (also publicly traded on the NYSE) Kathy wanted an more updated image of herself. So we met at Mojo’s Coffee House inside the River Music Experience in Davenport, and I had a blast getting to know this kind-hearted soul who is smart and fun to be around.

Pieces of Life (Kindle Edition)… Reviews, Anyone?

A few days ago I learned I could publish my blog on Amazon’s Kindle, and so I did. Now if you own a Kindle you can officially subscribe to this blog so the updates will come directly to you as opposed to you checking to see if I’ve updated it. Regardless, you get to write in your review about this blog. So feel free to click on the screen-capture below and tell me what you really think of what’s posted. I can take the heat (especially in this weather;-)

A Blog Post about Blogging

Jodi Friedman of MCP Actions – a photography-education blog read by thousands each day – was excited about my offer to do a guest post about blogging. Anyone who follows any photography blog knows photographers can be hardcore about blogging – and I’m a proud blogaholic. The post – which you can read by clicking the screen capture below – is about how photographers can get themselves to blog more regularly as well as some content ideas. While it is aimed at photographers, the suggestions can apply to anyone seeking more exposure. Enjoy.
